A little history on U.S.-Iran relations
By BJ Bjornson
Nothing new or even surprising here, and all pretty much just a basic overview, but it is still nice to be reminded of the history every now and again, particularly given the increased drumbeat towards military action these days.

Nearly every foreign policy problem we have today is blowback from CIA operations in the past. We need something like the CIA but the CIA has been too broken to fix from the very start. It's origin is a product of cold war paranoia. When I worked for the DIA in the late 60s and early 70s we had no use for the CIA cowboys who had read too many James Bond novels.
