Lieberman is circling the drain

By Fester:

I am glad that I have been wrong about Lieberman's long term political prognosis.  He is in trouble and is circling the drain of 2012 as his state's voters basically are categorizing him as a Republican and treating him as if he is the generic Republican in a Democratic leaning state.  Quinnipiac has the poll, but I'm grabbing TPM-DC's write-up:

Lieberman's active campaigning against the Democratic Party last year hasn't won him too many friends back home. Democrats go for Blumenthal by 83%-9%, and independents are for Blumenthal 55%-29%. Lieberman is the de facto Republican nominee in this match, and with GOP voters he scores 67%-23% over Blumenthal.

Okay, those are Santorum-esque numbers right there.

Now the liberal activists turned against Lieberman in 2005/2006, Conneticutt Democrats turned against him in 2006, most of the rest of the activist base disliked him by 2007, but the national Democrats still have not figured out that Lieberman is not their ally.  Oh well, that mistake will be corrected at great expense for the next four years.
