Ann Coulter is just William Ayers in 6" heels

by Jay McDonough

Ms. Coulter is in the news today.  It's her element, after all.  A caustic, acid filled symbiosis; the media pursues her for her outrageousness and the promise she will say, on air, something ugly and shocking that will end up one of those YouTube viral hits we all watch and after feel like a little bit of our soul has been lost.  The media figures will be openly hostile, critical of her on the one hand and, on the other hand, doting on her and indulging her viciousness all the while.  And her public personna - the ballsy, shoot from the hip, conservative truth teller - couldn't be sustained without the exposure the media, particularly cable news, provides her.  She writes the media is "certifiably insane" while seeking to become a permanent part of it.

She has a new book she is hyping this week and was going to be on the Today show today.  Her appearance was cancelled and she was subsequently booked onto CBS's The Early Show.   (That had to have been like nirvana for Ms. Coulter - just more evidence of her persecution). Here's a clip of her with host Harry Smith:

As I watched I was reminded of ex-Weather Underground member, William Ayers, round of interviews in November.  Ayers, like Coulter, had a book he had just written and was on a book publicity tour.  He appeared on ABC's Good Morning America then:

Unapologetic, remorseless, claiming to be misunderstood and without a whit of self-reflection, Bill Ayers is no different than Ann Coulter.  In their worlds, half of America is ugly and wrong.  Half of America is full of hate and corrupt.  And half of America wants them silenced for their oh so brave dedication to telling the "truth".

They're both perfect victims.  Maybe they should co-host a cable news show...

Comments

I sooo totally disagree. I don't see his comments in the video as anything outrageous. William Ayers has proven himself to be a responsible citizen of this country, at this point in time. I don't hear him going around talking about Laura Bush as a skank or anyone else for that matter. You might have been better served by using Rev. Wright's name. But damning this country for it's past acts still doesn't measure up to the incepid, blowhard pig in lipstick comments this large adam's apple ?woman? has shared with the nation.

Regardless of what he says to a TV audience to promote a new book, Ayers actually works his ass off to improve public education and teaches at a university. He's an activist and educator. He serves the public.

What does Coulter do other than sell her books?

Why Mr. Dingler, I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to hear you support Bill Ayers and denigrate AC. Sure, she's too skinny and her boobs sag a bit, but she's got it right when it comes to Liberal whining and always playing the victim. Her caustic style may offend some, but I like her. In fact, my writing style has been compared to hers, which I took as a compliment.
