Impressive stupidity and corruption

The Angry Drunk Bureaucrat's Rule # 16 ""Politicians are not smarter than you." has been proven again today by Illinois Governor and indicte/alleged felon shakedown artist Blagovich (D) as he allegedly tried to  shake down the entire Illinois political establishment AND the Obama transition team to auction off open Senate seat.  This is impressive for its arrogance, and incredible stupidity.  Let's just start with the basic fact pattern:

• Blagovich has long known he is in the sights of the local US Attorney
• Said USA, Patrick Fitzgerald, has proven the following
  • Very good public corruption prosecutor
  • Pit-bull tenacity
  • Methodical prosecutor
  • Strong sense of justice/rule of law
  • Capable of putting together complex cases
  • Massive bi-partisan credibility for complex cases
• Everyone else knows Blagovich is an allegedly corrupt bastard/douchebag
• One of the targets is the next President of the United States....

Wow, that is an amazingly and allegedly stupid fact pattern.

The one piece of political organizing that must occur from this is immediate pressure on Senate Democrats to issue an announcement that they will not seat Blagovich in the Senate if he goes forward on appointing himself to the seat.  Let's short circuit that 0.5% chance of one hell of a circus.
