Hindraker...say what?

By Cernig

I know, I'm in constant need of an editor myself - but I'd like to think even I would have spotted this massive disconnect as I wrote it:

I don't doubt that Obama comes from an anti-military background, much like Bill Clinton, who famously wrote that he "loathe[d] the military." ... Until his actions compel a conclusion to the contrary, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he holds our military in the esteem to which it is entitled.

All in one paragraph, no less. Although I'm pretty sure John doesn't intend the disconnect of "doubt", I'm certain he didn't mean the implication - that esteem "like Bill Clinton's" is all that the military is entitled to.

Then again, I could be wrong. John Hindraker is the man who famously wrote "It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius". When you'redealing with that level of derangement, anything is possible.

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."
