Laura Rozen: From Kurdistan to K-Street
By Cernig
I'm a big fan of Laura Rozen, one of Mother Jones' investigative reporters with a keen eye for the seemier side of foreign policy and foreign affairs. Today she has a quite remarkable tale of an Israeli former commando, Shlomi Michaels, and his business dealings in partnership with the likes of powerful Republican lobbyist Ed Rogers, former Mossad head Danny Yatom, the Kurdish government, Geneva-based private security official Abraham Golan, former head of the CIA James Woolsey, and former FBI chief Louis Freeh. It's all about foreign policy and making millions, with deals done in back rooms amidst cigar smoke.
Read the whole thing, it's pretty much un-excerptable.
