$150 Million

By BJ

Wow.  Just wow.

The Obama campaign announced this morning that it had raised a record $150 million last month, and had added 632,000 new donors to its total.

The amount shattered the campaign’s previous record from August.  The McCain campaign also had a record-breaking month in August, but is now operating with the $84 million provided by public financing for the general cycle and assistance from the Republican National Committee under certain limits.

In announcing the Obama figure, David Plouffe, the campaign manager, said the average donation for September was less than $100.

Little question now how it is that Obama has been going 3 or 4 to 1 in its TV ad buys.  All that and he probably still has a healthy reserve.

It is impossible to say at this point, but I would be willing to bet that the negative tone of the McCain campaign helped drive that number to its record-breaking level.  There has been more than a few times during this election cycle where attacks on Obama have resulted in boosts to his campaign contributions, and the McCain camp got steadily uglier as September progressed.

In any case, Obama now has the ability to simply overwhelm McCain's ads during the last couple of weeks and continue to be aggressive in more states than McCain can possibly defend.  The L-word is looking more and more likely.

A lot of this money is laundered money coming in from very dubious sources, likely much of it originating from implacable foes of America, both foreign and domestic. Obama is well-versed in Chicago politics and the mechanics of laundering dirty money towards political ends. The Daley political machine has long maintained such ties with the Italian mob and more recently with black and Latino drug-dealing street gangs. Obama independently developed his own contacts with the latter during his days as a community organizer (and perhaps also as customer for his own drug habits). Working through his terrorist buddy Ayers, he has also developed ties with Hugo Chavez, FARC and various Latin American drug cartels. The government of Iran has openly expressed support and undoubtedly is delighted to subsidize his campaign. Soros and Moveon are undoubtedly on the case as well. ACORN maintains extensive lists of real and bogus voters and is ideally suited to funneling dirty money ostensibly through these voters.

Fortunately Obama’s advertising blitz is starting to backfire bigtime, as the American people get sick and tired of wall-to-wall leftist bullshit propaganda. The more they see and hear, the less likely they are to buy it, as the polls are clearly beginning to show.

Wow. Going for a new record on the number of talking point smears you can cram into a single comment? Come on! A bit more work and you could have claimed he was receiving the largess from the Taliban’s opium smuggling and perhaps some kind of nefarious Chinese plot using the T-bills they keep buying up from the US Treasury! Maybe even Putin with all of that oil money! Keep working! There is a growing list of America’s enemies working overtime to get Obama elected and only your deluded ramblings can stop them!
