Dumb as a stick!

By Ron Beasley

We have been referring to John McCain as McSame because of his policies and ideologies but does he have something else in common with George W. Bush.  Is it possible he graduated from his class at Annapolis 4th from the bottom because he was the 4th dumbest guy in his class.  This week should have been McCain's week because of the Jesse Jackson flap but it wasn't.  Early in the week he said he thought the way that Social Security has worked for 75 years is a "total disgrace".  Then his chief economic adviser said that the US in in a "mental recession and we are a nation of whiners. St John tried to distance himself from Gramm but not even the media could bring themselves to buy it.  Over at Crooks and Liars they have a clip of Jim Krammer and Pat Buchanan not only shooting McSame down but actually making fun of him.  Jim Krammer reminds us that if SS had been privatized the citizens of the US would have been wiped out and had this to say about McCain:

“I gotta tell you: McCain is the most disorganized, lack of any knowledge whatsoever about economics.”

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."
