UnAssociated Press

By Cernig

Overnight, the pushback against Associated Press' bullying of bloggers - through suits against even the smallest excerpt of their content, making a joke out of Fair Use rules - has intensified. There's now a whole new website dedicated to this bullying by AP. UnAssociated Press can be found here and here. It's being run by Richard Kastelein of Atlantic Free Press and has the backing of the likes of Pam Spaulding, Carolyn Kay and Mahablog.

So, you'll be seeing this logo on sidebars all over the internets pretty soon:

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."

~Thomas Carlyle, On Heroes and Hero Worship, 1841
