Faux Outrage

By Cernig

Do you know how easy it is to find out what David Addington looks like? This easy.

Which makes the outrage coming from the likes of Red State, Hot Air and Powerline at William Delahunt's admittedly dumb words just as much Faux News at it always is.

Addington set out to be a complete jackass showing the "grace of gollum" in his contempt for Congress. Some Congresscritters seemed more interested in showing their contempt for Addington in return - or in grandstanding rather than asking searching questions about non-hypothetical events. All in all not a great day for America, but let's not lose sight of the simple fact that, sans Addington, Yoo and their bosses, America wouldn't have an officially sanctioned policy of torture and the commission of other war crimes. There's a clear villain in the Addington/Delahunt tale and it isn't the congressman from Massachusetts.

Yeah damn that Delahunt for ruining the civility of the Congress. I'm sure Dick "Fuck You" Cheney is appalled as is McNasty McCain, who I would quote from one of his red-faced encounters in teh hallowed chambers, but I'm too lazy to google.

It's going to be a long five months.

You're right.

Why not just hand them the rusty knife and hold Addington down while they do it?

You people are incredible.

Are you really equating returning snark in response to Addington's sneering disrespect for the committee process to a terrorist beheading Rick? I would think you would leave that to the real fringe wingnut pants pissers at freerepublic.

Nope, Libby, that can't be Rick - it's a troll posing as Rick. The real Moran is a thoughtful long-post blogger who actually reads carefully the items he comments on. He wouldn't have missed the way I called Delahunt's comment dumb, nor would he have missed the blindingly obvious - that Al Qaeda doesn't have to watch C-SPAN to find out what Addington looks like, they can just Google him. Thus the real Rick Moran would have figured out, logically, that in actual fact it was Addington who was baiting the congressmen by mentioning AQ watching in the first place - and thus the real Rick Moran wouldn't have left such a dumbass driveby comment on a small blog like ours. Good job, Jack - showing your usual lack of content and now throwing in insults to boot. Bye-bye.

Hey C. Ah trolls. That makes more sense.

Lordy! No bugger outside of the States gets C-SPAN. Therefore they would have to watch it via the Intertubes. I really don't think they would sit and watch hours of mainly boring discourse to discover the secret identity of Addington types.

Is this just a case of fauxtrage and certain republican-types p1ssing their pants again?

If Addington was really so worried about being seen and recognized he would have worn his red wig and his catwoman dominitrix attire with the black bullwhip.

Didn't you guys know that Delahunt controls al-Qaeda, and that they do his bidding?

All we have to do is convince Delahunt to order al-Qaeda to disband and take up basket weaving instead of waging jihad.

But instead, he commands his minions to attack Addington.

Bad Delahunt!

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."
