15 Spines Found

By Cernig

The 15 vertebrates of the Senate:

Biden (D-DE), Boxer (D-CA), Brown (D-OH), Cantwell (D-WA), Dodd (D-CT), Durbin (D-IL), Feingold (D-WI), Harkin (D-IA), Kerry (D-MA), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Leahy (D-VT), Menendez (D-NJ), Sanders (I-VT), Schumer (D-NY), Wyden (D-OR).

The rest are either too scared of being called softies or too enamoured of the chance to wield the power of the new FISA bill themselves. Ian Welsh, writing at FDL, has the rest of what you need to know.

Anyone for Sanders in 2012?

We must either cleanse the Democratic Party's leadership from within or move on to a new party that will represent the will of the people.

I think what is so frustrating is the lack of leadership in the House and the Senate.

Can you imagine Delay, Gingrich, or Frist allowing their people to go off the reservation like this?

Cheers (or not),

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."
