McCain's Moonie-Bats

By Cernig

"Moonbat" is a term of derision used by extreme Right bloggers to describe liberals.

But Cliff Schecter today points out that John McCain has his own "Moonie-Bat" which makes Rev. Wright's pronouncements pale into insignificance.

What is beyond question, however, is that a high-ranking McCain Campaign official, Charlie Black, has planned ceremonies for Moon to be crowned "King Of America," and Moon has had damning things to say about the Christian faith.

Black admits in an email that he would loved to have been at the D.C. ceremony, held on federal property, that crowned Moon as King Of America and the new Messiah - called in by God to clear up the mess Jesus made of things.

Just...wow.

As one of Cliff's commenters observes:

The McCain campaign has sought and gotten endorsements from the following religious figures:

1) One who believes that Katrina was caused by gays and that the Catholic church is a “great whore”;
2) One who believes that 9/11 was caused by the ACLU;
3) One who believes that the US was founded to destroy Islam;
4) and one who believes that Jesus was a failure and that he is the Messiah.

Why, exactly, is McCain getting a media free pass on his Moonie-Bat supporters?

The involvement of Black in the coronation ceremony of "King" Moon has been known for ages. What's more, Moon needed a Senator to authorize his use of a room in the Senate building, and given Black's involvement it's widely believed to have been McCain who signed on. So it's another scandalous gap in media coverage of McCain.

"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures. The requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there."
